A handcrafted expression of transition between presence and absence, darkness and light.
Barzakh
This artwork draws inspiration from Barzakh, the thin unseen line between life and death, presence and absence, darkness and light.
The darker reclaimed wooden pixels reflect silence, mystery, and the unknown, while the raw natural wood in the center symbolizes purity, soul, and the essence of life in its original form.
Just like Barzakh, this piece represents transition where endings are not truly endings, but the beginning of another existence.
Handcrafted from reclaimed wood, every pixel carries a reminder that even forgotten things can still hold meaning, purpose, and life beyond what we see.
The Story Behind the Wood
Project: DHA Phase 6
Wood Origin: Main Door
Date Reclaimed: March 2026
This artwork was created using reclaimed wood from a main door in DHA Phase 6, giving the material a previous life and history before becoming part of this artwork.
The wood was reclaimed in March 2026 and transformed into a handcrafted pixel artwork. From a forgotten door to a piece of art — the material's journey continues in another form.
The Blockistry Craft
Handcrafted Pixel by Pixel
Every Blockistry artwork is created from reclaimed wood and carefully transformed into individual wooden pixels.
For Barzakh, the contrast between darker reclaimed wood and the raw natural wood at the center plays an important role in expressing the artwork's theme of transition, mystery, purity, and life.
Each pixel contributes to the final composition while allowing the natural character of the reclaimed wood to remain part of the artwork.
No mass production. No two pieces of reclaimed wood carry exactly the same character.
